About UWV
Underwater Vision was created in 1991 as a PADI Resort. Our guests at Hotel Trudy however have been diving with us since we opened in 1974. Originally the Hotel was a destination for only the most adventurous of travelers who came to our out of the way island in order to experience some of the best diving in the Caribbean, but today our clientele is a as diverse as it is thriving. We are pleased to be able to offer accommodation to suit all needs from backpacker to discerning traveler.
Underwater Vision and Hotel Trudy are owned and managed by the Cooper family whose ancestors were among the first European settlers to the island going back eight generations. Underwater Vision Dive Center employs some of the scuba diving industry's most experienced and enthusiastic dive professionals.
Underwater Vision is a full service PADI Resort offering scuba instruction from beginner to professional levels. Our multilingual staff can offer courses and dive experiences in English, Spanish, German, French, Swedish, and Italian. Our two fully equipped dive boats are both comfortable and fast allowing access to every dive site Utila has to offer.
Mission
Underwater Vision is principally a diving school. We are dedicated to teaching scuba diving and our goal is to introduce this amazing, safe, fun, and unique sport to as many curious, enthusiastic and adventurous, people of all ages as possible.
